A few neighbors and I watched the rocket launch yesterday evening and it was amazing.
But the ultimate experience is be there within a mile and a half at the rocket launch pad back earlier this year I was there on Pia, Linda Beach on the Canaveral national seashore. What a difference to actually feel the roar of the engines you can feel it completely through your body.

I've never been that close, but I've watched my fair share of launches.

@kaylachan I bet night ones are cool. The launch of Apollo 7 in 1968 really was exciting to me. I had just turned 6. I can remember watching it very well.

One thing I have never seen up close. I was on an aircraft carrier and that was an experience, especially sleeping in a berthing compartment one deck down from the flight deck and hearing the planes take off and land. I think I would like to one day see a rocket launch.

@porwest Yes the last time I was there everyone was waiting I myself over two hours before the rocket launch then within five minutes it’s gone and over.. If your lucky enough to be there when the booster returns back to the Cape you get a 2nd show and a sonic boom.
