Glad I went to Guitar Center just now. My student and I performed!

It wasn't clear to me whether my guitar student would be playing in today's showcase, but I showed up anyway. I figured I could make some spending money and support whoever showed up.
My student, Jack, a 12-year-old boy, DID show up. He was nervous before we played, but we tuned up, practiced twice and the were first on stage!
I did the chords while he did the melody to Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. Then we did a few measures to Iron Man.
It was a good time.
I'm glad we got to go on first, so we didn't have to be "nervous" while watching the other young performers.

That must have made him feel proud! He's the student that's usually quite hard on himself, isn't he?

I'm glad the two of you went on first, too. Waiting and being nervous is the hardest part of performing. I hope you enjoyed the rest of the show...

He did a great job. I hope he's "fired up" and "proud" when I see him in his lesson this week. He's the one who cried two lessons ago because he couldn't play Rudolph for his Great-Grandma in New York. She may be nearing the end of her life. But I did not ask about her today.

Whenever there was an oral book report, others always wanted to be first. Not me! I was humiliated and always went last:( I played a trumpet solo and did fairly well, during high school:) Got a blue ribbon!

@kobesbuddy I used to be more afraid to play music than to lecture. Not any more, though.

@TheHorse Giving an oral speech, I shake and my voice quakes like I'm about to pass out.

Rudolph the Red Nosed Iron Man. Hope he remembers you when he’s a big star.
