We had given a Longhorn Steakhouse gift card to our neighbor across the street because she always takes our dumpster back to the house each week. Last night she stopped by to tell me that she went to Longhorn for dinner and to thank us for the gift card. She gave me a holiday bread that she had baked and a card. I thought this was very thoughtful of her. Usually she chides us for giving her something; but this year I think she truly enjoyed her gift. That made me very happy.

Breakfast - Belvita breakfast biscuits
Lunch - Meals on Wheels - Fish, rice, mixed veggies, Brussels sprouts and tropical fruit
Snack - Belvita breakfast biscuits
Dinner - I had a piece of the fruitcake that hubs picked up for me.

@LindaOHio I am not a meat eater but sometimes I do have it when my husband makes it or we are at a dinner and I have no other choice.

@MommyOfEli2013 I like fish better than meats. I was never much of a meat eater. I like seafood and fish and most pasta's.

@LindaOHio I like fish, depending on the kind....Halibut, tuna, salmon, cod I(if it is breaded, haven't tried it not breaded), trout, etc...

@LindaOHio I like giving gifts also. Especially to the young kids. Nothing is better than seeing the kid's expressions when they open presents.

Nice that your neighbor enjoyed the gift, and I have to admit to liking Longhorn even if I rarely eat there.
I feel like I am getting lazier in my daily cooking, but don't we all get into little ruts sometimes in the kitchen? Just cooked up some On-Cor chicken parmigiana and had some buttered corn on the side.
There were no leftovers. lol

I love getting gift cards. I actually like them better than gifts as people don't always know my sizes or tastes but with gift card's I can use them any time and any place.
They also make it easier as I don't have to figure out their likes and sizes.

Exactly. My mother-in-law used to buy me gifts that I either didn't like or didn't fit; and she never had the receipts. It was such a waste of money!!!

Our steak restaurants are expensive now too. Everything has gone up.
