Crocodile in the water

This photo is from a few years ago when we were at Cairns, Australia. There was a place that took us on a boat in a little river with crocodiles. It was safe and they even showed us feeding of the crocodiles. The crocs were much bigger than I thought and the sound of them snapping their jaws as they caught their food was really loud! Have you been close to a crocodile?

Does eating crocodiles count as "close" to you? Crocodiles are delicious.

I guess it does. We had croc meat during the visit too.

Never been this close. This must have been some experience! Crocodiles jaws' sound would really have been frightening!! So, what all places did you travel to during your Australia visit?

We stayed in South Australia for a few years. Visited quite a few places when we had the time.

@pitstop That's good! One of the boundaries of Adelaide Oval is very big and I wonder if anyone ever hit a six there!

That must have been frightening for me! I have not seen them so closely except in the zoo where we are not allowed to feed them.

This was an organised boat ride that happens regularly in this river.

We did a boat tour among the crocodiles in Louisiana. I have been a lot closer when I went to the pond in the golf course to pick up my ball from the water and there was a croc inside. I did not get my ball.

@pitstop No, the croc was not interested in the ball, but he surely would have loved to get my hand.

The closest I have ever been to crocodiles is at the zoo and there is a large space between me and them,

That's probably the safest way to look at them!

No, but I've been around alligators. I even held a baby one.
