My area is now in high Covid numbers, again.

Add RSV and flu to that list as well. I know so many sick people right now. One of my friends who is a nurse, worked almost 70 hours last week, because so many of the other nurses were sick.
Many wearing masks again, so I no longer stick out like a sore thumb wearing mine. I am trying to be careful, taking the son to all the appointments and such is a risk but I don't know how else we could manage it.
Take care, friends, and be safe.

At this time, covid is high here . . . infections dropping, they say, but the deaths are rising. We've always masked and will continue to do so. But sadly it seems people here are still ignoring it all . . . I don't see more people wearing masks. All we can do is protect ourselves as best we can. You take care too .

I am as careful as I know how to be. RSV and flu bugs are rampant here as well. Yes, we have our share of people ignoring it all, too.

The biggest problem of course being that ignoring something doesn't make it go away.

@MarieCoyle I wish stores would start up again making folks distance themselves from others. That would be a good thing for many reasons.

I am really tired of people saying, Oh, I have Covid, I tested positive--but they don't stay home! They are out running around, going to the store, and so forth, infecting who knows how many others. It makes me super mad.

@MarieCoyle you can still get caught by covid even if you had vaccinated
And you can die too by covid even you had vaccinated
Such a great vaccine

You can still get Covid if you get the vaccines. But supposedly not nearly as fatal if you get them.

@MarieCoyle RSV is serious, rushing to the ER because you have a fever is stupid, people should go to see their personal doctor. We can buy very cheap Covid tests and test ourselves, no need to rush to the ER because we fear it is Covid.

@LadyDuck
Here in the US there have been many opportunities to get a small supply of free Covid tests for home use. Since we have to test so often with my son in and out of the hospital, the free tests were welcome. They started a new free sign up today for 4 free tests, I signed up for those, too. Yes, regular fever doesn't usually require an ER visit, it's the high fevers that get scary.

They took my neighbor about a week ago to the ER via an ambulance for RSV, and she is not a child. She was having trouble breathing. She was there for several days.

It's the same here, but it hasn't been Covid that's hitting us hard. It's been the flu and RSV. Everyone has it around here it seems. And that's what I got sick from. The flu initially, which then turned into pneumonia, and after I thought I was all better after 2 rounds of antibiotics to treat the pneumonia, bam I got hit with RSV.
It's crazy how we're getting the 1-2-3 punch of Covid, flu and RSV. What's next? Are we ever going to return to normal?

@MarieCoyle I agree that we as a people are horribly impatient and short-sighted.

Jeff, just what IS normal now? Was there ever really a normal? I've wondered that a lot.
Reading history on pandemics and plagues, they don't end well and they don't wear out very fast. We are not a patient society. Almost 3 years is a long time, but here we are still....I just really hope everyone will take precautions if at all possible.

I do not see any numbers of any of the viruses going down anywhere around me. If anything they are climbing and more and more people I know are sick. We are trying to be very careful, if my son got Covid, I don't know if he could survive.

This Covid is so annoying, and frustrating in it's refusal to just go away with the various mutations.. No one has mentioned it in this state, so I guess the numbers aren't high

The Pharmacies here have stopped selling disinfectants that were so much in demand They say no one buys them as Covid is a thing of the past.
How wrong they are!!!

We are late getting our 2nd COVID-19 booster and flu shots. We really need to get out and get them.
