No sense of humour whatsoever!

Is there anyone you know, a family member maybe, who just doesn't have a sense of humour? Our Uncle Joe (not his real name) is one of the most humourless characters I have ever met. No matter what funny situation arises he quite simply keeps the same dour expression - not a glimmer of any kind of humour or joy and if anyone cracks a joke he looks at them with a puzzled expression, as though he has no idea what the person is going on about. Honestly, being in his company is hard work - nothing seems to cheer him up. Most of our family have given up and just accept that he's going to be the killjoy at any family gathering. By the way, he isn't married - wonder why that is?

There used to be a few myLotters like that. No matter what was said, they found a way to kill the fun in it. I just stopped talking with them... I can't imagine how colorless their lives must be when they can't find the funny side of life in anything.

I know what you mean. I've already come across a couple of them. As you say, just stop interacting with them is the best course of action

@Albain It's fun learning who has a sense of humor and who doesn't on myLot. I have a friend here from the Philippines who doesn't always understand what I'm teasing about so I explain it for him... He's very young and makes me smile almost the entire time I'm talking with him.

I had an Aunt that used to be like that She never joked at all. You need to enjoy life.

Each to their own I suppose. I guess such people have their own take on enjoyment

I do have someone like that..he is a humorless vicious drunk, so it is not cute by any means.

You're lucky - most families have a least one

Would be hard to be around. I love the company of people with great sense of humour. I am married to a man with the greatest sense of humour. In my profession as special educator and therapist, I have met people with autism. And understanding humour and other such nuances of human interactions is quite challenging for them.
