I was surprised when my friend from the UK got me these chocolates. I had a few dollars with me and I had asked her to buy some chocolates and send it with her mother who was visiting with her and returning after a couple of months. She instead returns me the dollars as she found it difficult to exchange it there and gifts me some chocolates. I would have much preferred she spent those dollars and got me good quality chocolates. No doubt they were Nestle's but they are packed in paper packs. Anyone can open them as the flap is closed with just a bit of gum. Why do established companies do this is beyond me. I have got such chocolates packed in tins. What is your opinion?

Nestlé bought "Quality Street" that was a UK brand, they kept the original packages for the UK. Those chocolates are not for sale here.

I got Quality Street chocolates from Australia and they were in tins. Even the quality of chocolates is not the same.

@allknowing Those made in the UK are not good, at least, this is my opinion.

@LadyDuck The same brands of chocolates are not made the same in different parts of the world, sometimes because of the climate.

There were assorted candies in there and not a safe packaging in my opinion

The packaging looks like yogurt or some soya treats.

All our chocolates come in packaging like that, or in boxes. It's very rare to get tins. It seems fine to me.

This pack had a flap that was held on only with a bit of gum. Anyone in shops can easily open it and replace what's inside and also during pandemic this is not advisable

@Fleura It is easy to open and put the flap back. It may not have occurred to you that it is easy to do it and after all it is a big company that does it and no one will point a finger.

Specially during the pandemic that packing would have surely attracted illness. It took me a month to start eating them (lol)

Yes tins are more favorable..but we never know if anything has been tampered with.

With paper packs it is easy to tamper with.

It's probably something to do with cost. Certain types of packaging are cheaper than others
