The Chipmunk Song

As for any child starting from the age of five up Christmas was an exciting time. I soon discovered what songs I enjoyed and which I did not care for at all. It turned out that not only did I fall in love with all of The Chipmunks, but “The Chipmunk Song” became my Christmas favorite. I had even learned how to put my 45 RPM record on the record player. Soon it became a contest about who would give up faster me or my parents. My father had more patience than my mom and when I scratched up my record he just bought me another.
Mom’s opinion was that since I could choose from both English and Latvian Christmas songs plus many English Christmas songs had been translated into Latvian. It was a big repertoire, but all I wanted was The Chipmunks. Finally, one Christmas my mom agreed with my dad. I knew what I wanted and had a mind of my own, and unfortunately mom, dad, and I were not always of one mind. In the photo, you see me at Christmas again, and this year I had decided that I wanted to wear my Easter dress and no one could change my mind.
As you can see in the photo, the dress has colorful tulips and I was seven years old and had just gotten my first Barbie doll.

@LadyDuck that was my mom's fashion trend, there is even a photo of me in a party dress with white gloves on my hands. I believe there is a post about that waiting soon after Christmas.

@kobesbuddy this was the Barbie that was stiff and did not bend, I remember that later on a special offer was to trade in the old Barbie for the new movable one and I was so happy I could do that,
