A female llama named Colby who lives with her owner who did not want to release his name to the public in Clifton Virginia ran away from her home on Sunday evening. The Fairfax County Police Department went on pursuit to make an attempt to capture the llama but the police had a hard time trying to catch the llama until the pet llama when the reports of the missing llama made it to the social media pages. Colby who is 20 years of age had been missing for at least one day when the homeowner who saw the llama on his property assisted the police to take Colby to a trailer and Colby was taken to the Fairfax County Animal Shelter. After the llama was taken to the animal shelter by the Fairfax County Animal Protection Police on Monday morning, Reasa Currier who is the director of the animal shelter had her employees contact the owner of Colby to inform her owner that his llama was at the animal shelter waiting to be reunited with him on Monday morning. Reasa is asking owners of animals make sure that the gates are locked to prevent animals from getting loose on the streets.

Better keep those gates closed or animals will walk right out. Good they got him back to the owner.

@RubyHawk Llamas like to step outside their homes once in a while when they see a door or fence open.

The same thoughts that animal rescue officials are asking owners of these animals to please keep them at home.

That's good advice. Good that the llama made it back home. Wonder what the weather is like in Virginia now.

Poor Colby. I would think 20 years is old for a llama.

Maybe she was hungry or looking for fresh water. That's why animals run away from home!

@Deepizzaguy I hope they have more than one llama, instead of one lonely animal!

@kobesbuddy I think that the owner of the farm in Virginia has a few llamas in his farm.
