We have been sort of stuck

We have needed a battery put in our new to us car. We could not get it started to get out to get it.
Our favorite mechanic came and used his jump box to get it going. Bob then drove to his shop, got the battery installed, and then filled it with gas.
I am all set now to go to my sister's house for part of the day. I will wait til the sun comes up to warm us a little bit.
I am ready for the weather to change again. I have had enough of winter.
My sister has not left her house for days.

I spoke too soon. Shift cable broke. Oh, well. We went in another vehicle.

@rebelann It goes between the shifter that you move inside the car to the part on the motor that actually changes the gears on the engine. Mechanic said it could just have popped loose. He has the van again.

It is going to warm up to 40 by this Thursday. I can hardly wait. I'm glad you got a new battery. This is no weather to get stuck in.

@GardenGerty I am there with you about needing a car. Much of the U S is like that. The country has a pretty poor infrastructure.

I spoke too soon. The shifter cable either broke or came loose. Van is on vacation again at the mechanic's.

I found out last night that I need new batteries in my flashlight. But when I started to unscrew the cap just now to see what size it took, the light came on. Then the switch wouldn't turn it off. I guess there's something screwy in there.

Ended up taking the little car, shift cable broke. Yes, my sister has friends but does get lonely. Also needs help with food prep, housework, etc.

The early part of January is lookin quite warm for us. This probably isn't going to be our only brush with winter...but hopefully it won't be as cold later on in the season. Glad you got your car going. Bob must be feeling pretty good to get all that done.

Bob is doing quite well. We have another glitch with this car, but that is okay..We went in his little Capri and had a nice day. It is very cold still but next week looks nice.

Yes, it needed a battery. Now it needs a shifter cable. Eventually it will be alright.

I would even take early spring. Shifter cable broke while I was backing out. It is an older car that has sat for a while, there will be some minor glitches.
