Santa's in trouble!

Well, he might be! Why? Because our grandson, Rory (8), has devised a cunning plan to catch Santa in the act. He has set up his mobile phone in the lounge and has trained it on the seat which, for the past few years, has been where Santa has left his gifts for him to find on Christmas morning.
With the help of Rudolph and his penguins (no, I don't see the connection either!) he has connected his phone to a charging outlet and placed it in the ideal position to catch the jolly fat fellow in the act of delivering gifts. As added evidence there will be a glass of milk and a couple of cookies for Santa to snack on - if the milk and cookies are gone in the morning then Rory will take that as definitive proof that Santa has been - especially if there is video evidence to back that up!
How his parents are going to get round this cunning trap I have no idea. His dad doesn't eat cookies and doesn't possess a Santa suit to dress up in. This will be interesting when we join them for Christmas Dinner tomorrow!

Wow! Your grandson still believes in Santa at 8 years old? I would have thought other kids in school would have explained Santa wasn't real well before now.
I am curious how his parents will handle this. Please don't forget to let us know.

@Albain Oh, wow! When I was a kid we learned at around six or seven that Santa wasn't real. It must be nice that kids can stay innocent that long there.

@DaddyEvil Our grand-daughter has had her doubts for a while now but these seem to have been confirmed since she went to High School

@DaddyEvil He has a couple of years yet. His sister, who has just turned 13, has only recently realised that Santa isn't real - possibly because she is now at High School where, as you say, other kids would have explained to her about the non-existence of Santa

@RebeccasFarm I'm not sure catching the ''real'' Santa on video is at all possible!

Lucky were our parents when those electronic devices did not exist. Well, let's say that "Santa" needs to throw a dark cloth over the phone so that he cannot be seen by the camera. The parents could also suggest that Santa does not want to be seen, if he leaves the phone there, he will not deliver the gifts.

Don't forget to let us know what happens. Kids are just too smart nowadays or, at least, have too easy access to technology. lol

Trying to catch Santa in the act, hey? lol. I mean, you should tell him that Santa is quite innovative and knows all too well about cameras—and if he finds out? He may not come at all. Nah, that would be mean. I am sure the follow up story is much better.
I am not sure the correlation of the penguins either, but I know my wife loves Christmas penguins and at that time of year there are dozens all around the house, inside and out.
