Kitty now has a vacation home in addition to her new bedroom. Am I letting things get out of hand?

Kitty is currently snuggled up to my bedroom stereo, listening to classical version of "Come All Ye Faithful ."
Before that, she was asleep in her new bedroom atop my couch, listening to nothing at all.
I had a rough day, helping a friend move an 100 lb compressor of some sort some 20 miles to his house.
I wound up sprayed in rust and water.
Kitty could care less about my difficult day.
Have I let things get out of hand?

@TheHorse — that’s for her to know and you to find out!

It sounds like you need to sit down with Kitty and have a chat about priorities... or you could go to couples therapy and see if that helps.
I hope you otherwise enjoyed helping your friend.

@TheHorse If my lower back was messed up like yours, I probably wouldn't have helped a friend move something like that.

I hope that rusty water didn't stain your clothes!
It sounds like Kitty is just being Kitty. She considers you her staff, after all.

@TheHorse Today my son randomly piped up in the car with, "Rust tastes NOTHING like bacon!" I really don't want to know how he made this discovery.

You definitely need a training to survive in cats world if you can not train kitty to stay in human world . Kitty owns your world and you have to come in terms with that..the sooner, the better

Kitty says " You silly man. It's all about me." "Don't you know that yet?"

You are still managing good on your part.
Perhaps Kitty likes a lot of Freedom in her day to day life things.
So yes she would be looking for enjoyable and comfortable stay. May be she has a strong confidence in your ability to do a lot of things.
So just chill and let certain things take their own course.

You sound like my brother. He has taken control of our new puppy. She so well behaved and do not do that, I will have to do undo it later. Fine, I will not play with her, I say. Then she is off and barking at everyone, just being a little crap because you know he taught her and she so well behaved. . Hey, go show us how its done with your new puppy. She does not much care about the bad day people had either, but loves to be center of attention.
I guess can make you forget about the hard labor you did that day.

You "let things get out of hand" when you agreed to help your friend move that compressor... that's why you "wound up sprayed in rust and water."
