Niagara Falls in Winter

The joy of standing by the flowing Niagara Falls, having a boat ride and getting soaked as one gets closer is all fine when the weather is normal. We hear of a winter storm in the US and Buffolo being the worst affected with minus 14 degrees. I doubt if anyone would have gone there but there are photographs to show how the Falls look in Winter. Not just the looks the Falls will make no noise - a sad state of affairs. I have been to Niagara Falls both the US and Canadian side. Have you experienced the joy of visiting this magnificent Fall? Been there in 2018 and have seen it when the snow was starting to melt. It was early spring but it was still very cold there. I could see the ice floating about and falling over the falls.

@allknowing It was, however we couldn't ride the boat since the river was full of ice floating around, and boats couldn't pass by. Only from the observation deck can we see the falls. Some of the observation decks were also close since the floor was a little slick at the time, thus people were not permitted in some areas near the falls.

Yes I have, both sides (by accident!) I think it would take an exceptionally cold spell to freeze the actual falls, because of the great volume of moving water Apparently they did once freeze completely in 1848.

@allknowing I can't find anything current, but this photo was taken last February I imagine it probably looks a lot like this right now too, but the water is still moving underneath.
Debby Schuh shared a post on Instagram: "Instead of walking in my neighborhood today, I decided to walk at Niagara Falls and take the elevator down to below the falls for a different view. It’s super cool (and it actually wasn’t too cold today) to see the

Worth seeing when one visits the US or Canada. I saw the Falls in the night in Canada. They were lit and colourful
