My wife and I attended the Christmas party of Senior Citizens in our Barangay (village). Less than hundred were present. The City Mayor after giving his message donated Five Thousand Pesos (Php 5,000.00) for Christmas gifts. The Vice Mayor through his daughter gave also some money for the seniors. A city councilor did give his share of money donation so as with a Barangay councilman. My wife and I received 10 kilos of white rice. Others got an umbrella, a pack of foods, a bag of goods. No one went home empty-handed. Exchanging of gifts highlighted the half-day Christmas party which started 2 in the afternoon. This kind of social gathering among the elderly persons is revived after 2 years due to pandemic.

That sounds like a nice event. I’m sure you are happy to get the free rice. We eat a lot of rice here but nothing like households in other countries.

How nice to have this again after the pandemic kept us away from others for so long.
