I reckon it's almost Midnight in NYC. It's 2023 in Europe and beyond.
Here it's almost 9 PM, but people have been shooting off fireworks already.
The rain has stopped, but I am laying low.
Kitty is under the bed.
Do you celebrate the New Year in any particular way?
I tend to lay low, as I am tonight.
In any case, Happy New Year to my MyLot friends (and enemies).

Happy New Year 2023 to you n Kitty.
Has Kitty realised that the New Year has started?
Just some quiet; at home celebrations with Eating and Movie Watching.
Now just waiting for the first lunch of year 2023.

I would be interested to know about the kind of Dinner/Snacks/Tea/Coffee that you would have!

My Lunch and Dinner too tends to be different from what we have traditionally or usually in India.
Now our Dinner is sometimes Cookies plus some snacks with Tea, which many might not count as a Dinner.

The neighbors started shooting off fireworks about twenty minutes ago. They woke Pretty up. She is NOT happy about it!
Happy New Year, pony.

Wish you a very Happy New Year 2023!
Rules should come in and ask all Fireworks to be converted to be sound-less or with as less sound as possible.

Hey, Happy New Year 2023.
I was worried for my daughter's two cats at the time the fireworks began to be too noisy, but they were no where to be seen. Knowing them, they were watching the fireworks with each other cheering each other on... (These cats are very curious of noises.)

Animals have better hearing than we do and so fireworks and lightning bother them. My cat had a very hard time when we had lightning. She looked at me to stop it and I could not and felt terrible for her but I could not stop it and then the alarm for the building went off and would not stop and I tried calling about that but remembered the last time it happened it took them a while to shut it off.

It went off again this morning but not as long as it has done before. It has gone off all day and I tried calling before but did not do any good because they were working on it. I did not bother to call today. I am fasting because it is a fast day.
The guy that was maintenance for the building is not in the building anymore. I can still call him if the alarm does not stop. I am concerned about my cat. She could not eat for a while because of the alarm today. It bothers her.

We had very few booms and pops at midnight this year. We stayed home, had a good dinner and watched the ball drop. Happy New Year!

@LindaOHio Heh. I've seen the on/in Times Square. But that was when I could still stay awake until 9 PM.

@TheHorse The one on Times Square. We usually watch the one on Duval Street in Key West; but hubs was tired and hurt pretty badly; so he didn't feel like hooking up the TV for YouTube, etc.

Made sure I got my sleep. Our cats are blessed in that we aren't close enough to anyone to hear fireworks. They'd freak.

Our pets tend to be wild, looking for places to hide. They're not used to noise especially the big bang of fireworks.
