Happy 2023!!! Hope you all had a safe and fun New Year's Eve. Ours was very quiet. We just had a special dinner and watched the ball drop on Times Square. We had very few pops and booms at midnight.
The weather has been mild the past few days and will turn cold again next week.
79 days until spring
Breakfast - Oatmeal square
Lunch - Lentil soup
Dinner - Beef standing rib roast, baked potato and sour cream, broccoli, roll
Dessert - Cheesecake

We did not make the New Year. We went to bed about 1130pm. It's just not worth it. We were tired and that was it. I joked, when we were younger, we used to shout, "Happy New Year!" Now we go to bed early and shout, "SEE you next year."
Incidentally, we were awoken by sonic booms from people shooting off fireworks. Ahem. It is what it is. "Get off my lawn."
We went to the casino earlier. I budgeted $400 but we only wound up using $200 initially. Between the two of us we were down $60, but we played for about 5 or 6 hours, so it was well worth it. And never had to dip into the other $200 and I promptly put that back into the bank.
We were going to go out to eat, but we thought about it and figured the restaurants would be packed. So we just got some pizzas from Pizza World and ate that at home.
It was a good night.

Happy New Year!
I had an orange for breakfast, a ham sandwich and a handful of pecans for lunch and broccoli with noodles and chicken for supper.

I wish you a better 2023. I hope that you get Meals on Wheels and Food Stamps. I will be ecstatic if you get them!!!

@LindaOHio Heeler dogs are so sensitive. I gave him a hard butterscotch candy. He spit it out and when all the racket quit, went back and ate it.

Happy new Year. I was with Dixie and Humberto and the last day of 2022 I ate for 2 days. I wrote about it. From today on I will try to be more frugal

Great photo! We heard lots of fireworks starting around 9 PM. Our town drops a beet at midnight. I think because our town is popular for it's beet farming. My grandfather used to drive a beet truck before he got sick. Happy new year

I had a chicken burrito and baked potato for lunch, and chicken/tater frozen thingie for dinner.
