Were you able to stay up last night to watch the ball drop, watch fireworks or do whatever it is to celebrate the New Year that your country does? Friend and I both stayed up to watch the new year come in. I was reading an interesting article this morning, that stated instead of making resolutions to write yourself a letter about what you want to accomplish in the new year and why, ways you hae succeeded in the year past, and things you have fallen short on. I will give it a whirl.

I haven't gone to bed yet today... The fireworks here woke Pretty up . She wasn't happy about that. (It sounded like cannons going off right in our back yard.) Happy New Year!

Wow, well Happy New Year you party animal. Like I said, the rain put a damper on New Year's merriment last night which was fine by me.

I will never have the time to search for that letter if I even try to write one. I have such a short memory that things keep disappearing around me.

I can relate to that. I don't code where I put things down and 5 minutes later I am looking for them.

@snowy22315 I am very sure I hid some cash around where I am sitting here, but for the life of mine, I can't find where.

Happy New Year. I find that a great idea, writing an accomplishment letter. I journalled for a while in early 2020, I wanted to put in my own words the feelings of concern I had and our society had over the state of much of our population's health. That was when alot of people complained that they had 'the bug' and it quickly escalated to the flu and from there Mr Covid was what we called it. Things changed so quickly back then, nothing like I have witnessed in my life. We stayed up until about 10 last night, but my hubby was snoring in his recliner on the couch and I knew that I did not want to wake him at midnight to wish him a happy new year, I thought it better that we do that in the morning, so we were in bed before 2023 arrived.

It is hard to stay up to ring in the New Year one time. I remember trying once when I was a kid, and I told my mom I wanted to watch the ball drop. I went to bed, and told her to wake me up when it happened. She did, but I was too sleepy to go look..

@snowy22315 We used to go either to a house party or to a dinner dance, and then it was easy of course to stay up until midnight, and then some, but not alone at home, it is challenging. I woke much earlier then I usually do yesterday also, which did not help any.

We stayed up until 10 p.m., my husband was exhausted and I decided it was better that we both go to sleep. The night has been quiet and we had a nice sleep until 5 in the morning.
