Our Mystery Murder character names

I wrote that we participated in a Murder Mystery a few nights ago. It was set in a vineyard and the names of the characters were very imaginative. There was a Marilyn Merlot, a film star; Tiny Bubbles, a lady who’d had lots of husbands; Ralph Rottingrape, the black sheep of the family; Bonnie Lass, a Scottish lady and Otto von Schnapps, a German wine-merchant. The guy buried under the floorboards was Barry (Bury) Underwood. There was also a Italian jail mentioned and it was El Gotcha. I still don’t have photos from the night so I’ve added one of another of one of the houses where’ve we’ve spent New Year.

Our friend has a great scrapbook of all our New Year get-togethers. It's great to look back through the photos.

@kobesbuddy That was a great idea. Vince has sort of turned into the 'village photographer' here and takes photos at any of the functions that are held.

@JudyEv When I worked at a nursing home, photos were taken of certain parties and occasions. Those memories were shared with family members, when their loved one passed away.

It's fascinating what a creative genius you guys must be to be able to create original names for your characters. I would like to have that talent as well because the characters in my stories seem lifeless. . I wish you good luck with your Murder Mystery venture. I hope I could continue with what I was writing too, but the muse has escaped me. . Happy New Year!

We bought the game in a box so all the names were provided for us. The game is very well constructed and they give a lot of tips on how it make it an entertaining and successful experience.

I was Marilyn, the film star. My outfit was too big but I put a hairband round a great lump of material in the middle of my back to pull it in a bit. I should have photos soon. Our friend had bought everyone's outfits from op shops (thrift shops) so they had to guess at sizes a bit.

This house was from a different year. We used to try to stay in a different house each year if we could find one that would accommodate 11 people.

@JudyEv — they didn’t sing Elton John to her, did they? “Hold me closer, Tiny Bubbles….” (My immediate thought was the Don Ho song, of course.)

I love El Gotcha. And Tiny Bubbles character was given to our quite-short friend who put on this wonderful accent and fluttered her eyes like nobody's business.

There were nine of us in a private house and we had to try to solve a murder. We each had clues and instructions on who to question about what, etc. It was very well constructed.

The house we stayed in over New Year is in a beachside suburb but it is on quite a big block. It's very quiet there. The ones in the country were very quiet too.
