Short story: The Rabbi's words to his students always had great depth to them

When we feel God with us, we will stop fearing life

Rabbi Ben Afleck, was often busy in preparing his words, for his weekly talks to his students. He always tried to put depth behind his words, but he then left his students to find this depth for themselves, without his spelling out his exact meanings. The students could then distil the truth for themselves from the words of their Rabbi. The inner spark of their soul was touched by this truth, because their minds, and hearts, had fed their soul with the love that was always embedded behind the words of the Rabbi. When the Rabbi spoke, it was the strength of God behind his words that moved his students, as the Rabbi, always included God in his preparations. He would ask God to bless his words, in such a way that they explained fully the truth behind them to his students, and this happened for them when they heard them from their hearts, understood them with their minds, but felt the truth behind them, with their souls. Our souls live the truth, through our hearts, and minds, with our bodies tagging behind. We must live spiritual lives, through living as our soul, in our bodies now, not try to just live from our minds alone, and ignore the higher connection to spiritual truth, that is possible for us to make, via our souls. We need to live in harmony with our soul, in our lives, so that in this way, we are also living in harmony with God too. Love eats into your heart and leaves a deposit of spirituality there, which then connects you to your soul, the spiritual part of you. We should spend our lives pursuing spirituality, not in accumulating material benefits alone. If your life feels empty, or lacking direction, you can be sure that you have stepped away from your soul's purpose for your life, and are trying to find fulfilment from your mind, and heart, alone. Live a holy life, and it will be a blessed life too. I like the following statement; Hearing from the heart; understanding with the mind; feeling the truth with the soul.

Yes, that is a good saying that draws on all parts of us to receive the teaching, or strengthen our connection, to God. We can even feel the warmth of God's love in our bodies too, at times. Our bodies play a role too. We are to love God with all of our strength, our mind, our body, our hearts, and our soul, as Jesus Christ told us to do.

We need constant reminders of these words that touch the core of our being. But we tend to drift into materialism and pay a heavy price in terms of living a life bereft of meaning and substance. There is then a total disconnect between the mind, heart, and soul. Love takes a back seat then with hatred trumping and dictating our lives. We need a rebooting now back to the basics that can only sustain us.

Thanks, siva. Yes, some of us not only need a rebooting, but more a swift boot applied to the backside too, to get them to about turn in their lives.

@Shiva49 If the majority will is pushed aside by those wealthy unicorns in power, in both business, and politics, the will of these power-driven despots will keep being fulfilled, and the majority will, will be pushed down, and held down, so it has no power to resurface itself, and put things right again.

@innertalks Most think that hoping for a change in our attitude and action is being idealistic. However, I am optimistic the change will come when the majority will prevails. They realize that they are being used as a tool by the very few.
