For a new year, I think I need some good books. Last year I read Everything I Never Told You, Gone Girl, and before that I'd read Joy Luck Club, The Shining, Flipped and some other books.
Do you have any better choices? I'd like some recommendations. Please share good books with me, the more the better.
Thanks and happy new year.

Not sure what you like to read, but some of my favorite books are Charlotte's Web by E.B. White, Ghost Story by Peter Straub, Misery by Stephen King, Lord of the Flies by William Golding and any short story collection by Stephen King.
Dark Whispers edited by Ivan S. Graves is a goodie too.

I've read the Chinese version of Charlotte's Web before, I kinda like those books of suspensions, and the books you mentioned, Misery the film I'd seen. On ghost stories, I like the one written by Edgar Ellen Poe. Thanks for your recommendation, I would add them to my booklist.

@maggiesunjuan The book, Misery, is much better than the movie, even though I did also like the movie. My favorite tale from Edgar Alan Poe is The Telltale Heart. Fantastic.

@maggiesunjuan John Grisham's novels were turned into movies, several of them.
