2023 Health Journey - Day 5

Hey everyone, how are you? I am back to share about my journey. I am down a few ounces to 211.2 from 211.6 ( I think that's what it was) My sugars stayed steady most of the day, but high. 180s to low 200s. I did drop down to 152 before my 2nd meal of the day but then I had some carbs and it shot up to 240. Yes, I know I shouldn't have had the carbs but struggling with being disappointed with my sugars staying high and having trouble eating just meat/eggs/cheese etc... What did I eat today? Meal 1 - Costco 1/4 pound beef frank with cheese Mayo/sugar free ketchup Meal 2 - 2 slices pizza Macros for the day: Calories - 1,320 Protein - 57 Fat - 88 Net carbs - 73 Carbs are still much lower than when I was eating a SAD (standard american diet) way of eating. I think 100 or less is considered "low carb" but I know I need as close to zero as possible. I am a work in progress. And yes, I had some pizza - but I did not have dessert, snacks, etc that were full of carbs after. I know I also still need more protein, at least 80s for that. I will work on that. We'll see how things go continuing on. I do see my endocrinologist on Tuesday. Not looking forward to it, but at least I have started trying again. I want him to recheck my insulin, and to check out my thyroid. I wouldn't bring it up, but maybe my husband can. How do you think I am doing?

As you said, your carbs are high. Otherwise, I think it's good.

@MommyOfEli2013 Cut it down a little more every day and you'll soon be where you need to be with your sugars.

@just4him I cut them out as low as possible and my sugar didn't move. If I am over the feeling sick thinking of meat then things will be better. Although there are going to be days when I do have a meal with a little bit of carbs, and occasionally a "cheat" day. Trying to get to where this is a lifestyle and not just a "diet"

Low compared to what I was eating though. I probably ate 300+ carbs October thru December. I'm doing what I can at the moment to stay on the journey. Some days will have some carbs. I just don't want to go back on a 3 month binge. Well taste wise I'd love to lol

My trouble is I like convenience...and don't want to stand around cooking. Especially with my back pain. So carbs are quick, and tasty
