I love summer, friends. The sun isup early and although it is still a bit chilly when I first get up, it quickly gets better.
I go to the bathroom, take out the alarm, open the glass door of my bedroom and Luna comes at that sound to greet me. I pet her and she answers waging her tail.
When I´m too busy, she reminds me. She starts to yelp until I go to talk to her for a while. I have never used in Spanish those typical words that in English are meant for pets like "good dog" or the like. I treat Luna like a person and she understands perfectly well.
I scold her if she is in too much of a hurry to get near me when I have a liquid treat to give to her. I´m afraid that she will make me throw part of the liquid on the terrace floor and that will be ants.
Luna understands Spanish perfectly well. I have never hit her and the most I have done is to tell her to go to her house when I´m doing something that might harm her or bother me.
Do you have a pet or do you have an animal friend? Luna was almost a pet but more like an infant when she was a puppy. Now she helps me in and does not run away or do what some pets do. She lives here.

I'm pretty sure my fishies don't understand English... But they do like to "pet" me by swimming between my fingers when I put my hand into their tank.

I used to have fish when I was young. I had tropical fish and they were beautiful. But now I have discovered that I need someone who also keeps me company and Luna does even if she doesn´t come into the house.

@DaddyEvil I always smile at the English word "furbabies" Luna has changed a lot since she was a puppy. She is now a young adult and she would laugh at the word "baby" if she knew how to laugh. She knows with whom to play and in what way. She knows that I´m an old mom and she behaves so that I don´t fall. I understand about allergies. And I could not have an animal inside the house (other than fish of course).

@marguicha I understand. I'm allergic to furbabies, so fishies are all the pets I can have.

Having a pet like a friend with us is great. Like a family member. I like pets too but I don't have one. Last month I went to a friend's house for dinner her dog came from behind and put her front paws on my back when I turned round she came into my arms and I hugged her petted her, she was very quiet staying in my arms. I like her so much and decided when my daughters go to college I will definitely have a pet with me.

What kind of pet was that one? Was it a cat?

@marguicha It was a little dog. I prefer dogs than cats, I take cats as proud and indifferent animals but it may not be true I just judge this from words from others.

@maggiesunjuan I have always thought that cats were wild. They are nice as long as they can get something from you. My experience though. Dogs are generous and better than many human beings.

I have a cat, rescued when a family moved and left him behind. He was pretty wild at first, I think he was depressed and scared because he had lost "his home". I always treated him well, I pet him and brush in the morning and I talk gently to him when he seems scared by something. He is very sweet now and he adores my husband.

I remember when you said that you´d never have a cat until he came to your life. But you manage him in such a way that he does not bother you. Luna never goes into the house, not even when the glass door to my room is wide open in summer. She sticks her nose and if I say hello, she wags her tail. Thwn she sits for a while in the outside until she discovers that she´d better choose a colder spot.

@marguicha I let him inside but only in some areas and he never stays for a long time. He loves his outside house and his freedom. He is so happy when I brush him, I would say that he smiles, poor thing.

We had dogs for many decades and loved every one. I miss all of them. They were family members and not pets. Have a good weekend.

I remember when you first got Luna. She is a lovely dog even if she does like to do a spot of gardening from time to time.
