These kinds of stories are a pleasure to share here since it is nice to learn that a dog that was in the Humane Society of Amherst County in Virginia named Frank was up for adoption for a period of 543 days.
A female who went to visit the Humane Society of Amherst County went to the animal shelter on Wednesday daytime hours to adopt a dog when she saw Frank whose age was not mentioned in the news report who is well loved at the shelter.
The identity of the female who decided to adopt Frank was not mentioned. She insisted she did not adopt Frank out of pity. She liked the appearance of Frank and she decided to adopt him to live with her and her relatives.
My hope is that the family who adopted Frank will enjoy his company for many years to come.

I hope so. I, myself, prefer puppies. But it seems that even abused old dogs are better than human beings and respend to kindness.

One of my late dogs who was around one year old when he was adopted was very kind and gentle for the ten years he lived with my relatives.

@Deepizzaguy I had a dog lover friend years ago. Even stray dogs at the streets went to her. She adopted several older dogs and even cared for some that were quite ill.

It breaks my heart to hear about a dog that was in the shelter for so long. I hope he has a wonderful life with his new family.

I share the same feeling of sadness when a dog is in an animal for over a year before he is adopted by a loving owner..

I am amazed that Frank did stay in the animal shelter longer than a year myself.

@Deepizzaguy That is too long to be in a shelter.

I learned to love dogs after being with them for a while. Whenever I see a street dog, I´d like to adopt it but unfortunately, they´re not allowed at the place where I live. Dogs are some of the most loving and intelligent creatures that I´ve known. Cats are like them too. with little differences

Most dogs that I used to own were very friendly and gentle with their owners.

I remember game show host Drew Carey asks everyone who watches The Prince Is Right to spay and neuter their pets to keep the pet population at the end of the show.

I am happy for Frank myself because according to the animal shelter officials, Frank was a nice dog who was friendly with his fellow dogs.

I really do like stories of adoption and rescue dogs. It's very heartwarming to know an animal has been given a second chance. After all, dogs are unconditional creatures. They have emotions and feelings as well. It's great that they now can become service animals and also an array of numerous ones that can help people!

Having a service dog for persons who need them is the best way to keep dogs alive and help persons who need their help.
