Hi! I just bought my house on November 15th - 2 months ago - and it's a house built in the 1950's so there is PLENTY to be done. In fact, my list of projects keeps getting longer and longer...Urg! But I am excited to make this place my "home" and continue to improve upon things that need it.
The first thing I did was change the locks - but also got DEADBOLTS installed. What kind of house doesn't have deadbolts?! Very rare to find that in this area.
*SO* pictured is my old garage service door (on the bottom). YES - it looks cute - but it is an "unconventional" swinging barn door that did not lock. It looked cute on the outside, but had about a 4" gap on the bottom and didn't fully secure - so on a windy day it would be swinging outwards. LOL. Almost totally pointless.
So I decided to make this a bit of a priority, but I bought the CHEAPEST primed door system I could find at the hardware store - $220 and my dad had an old knob and lock for me to use. Score! I paid a family friend to install it. The only thing I plan on doing is PAINTING it, I cannot leave that door that ugly gray color. I prbably will go with a tan that sort of matches the stucco.
Do you have any projects on your radar lately?

For the time being, not really. I did get the dishes done, so I won't have a mountain of them to look forward to. But, beyond that, not really.

Very nice. We have a lot of projects that need to be done; but nothing is planned at this point.

The house I bought was made in 1939 and only needed a few improvments. We did put a new roof on it. We got a new heater and those were our only big expensives.

As our house is almost brand new, we don't have any plans to fiddle with it at the moment. I'm sure you'll enjoy renovating your house and congratulations on purchasing it.
