Many of you may have already heard about this. It is truly tragic. The Georgia Bulldogs Football team had just had their Championship Parade in Athens Georgia for winning the College Football Championship.
Hours later, a football player and a football staff member were killed in a car accident just a mile or two away from the University of Georgia.
It is tragic about the football player but what hurts more is the female football recruiter killed. Her name is Chandler LeCroy and she is from my town of Toccoa Georgia. She went to Highschool with my younger son and I actually knew her when she was 4 when I taught for a year at a local preschool.
Her funeral was earlier today.
Because Toccoa was her hometown, I am sure tomorrow's Toccoa Record will dedicate much of the newspaper to her.
It depresses me.
Pray for both families.

I read the news as well. So tragic. I'm a huge Gator fan (went to UF), so the Bulldogs are considered an arch enemy. But that's on the gridiron. In real life, they are a fellow SEC brethren, and we all stick together. And besides, football rivalries and real life aren't the same. No matter how much I hate a team, I would never wish ill will on any of their players or staff. No matter what team they belonged to, it is such a shame that their lives were cut short. I pray for the families, friends and acquaintances of both individuals.

Oh, I am so sorry. That is very tragic, and so much worse because it was someone you knew. It's always terrible when someone is taken so suddenly and unexpectedly.
