The photo is my newest grandchild Phoenix. He is just over 4 months old. Just look at his pure, innocent pulchritude!
He doesn't even realize that he is so pulchritudinous.
This weird word is from 15th century Latin, 'pulcher', which means beautiful. The ch is pronounced like the letter k.
I must admit that pulchritude (noun form) does not sound lovely to me at all! It makes me think of a terrible virus or other illness. Example: I was terribly ill for a week with the dreaded pulchritude!
Are you familiar with this weird word? Have you ever used it in conversation or writing?

@BloggerDi It's only because those "weird" words are all derived from Latin, that I studied during 8 years.

Quite a word. I have not used that one and I think I will avoid it.
