how to deal with power transmission line ice-wraped in your country?

Saw the workers to wipe off the ice on the line last night via screen,quite a job.wonder what scene in your country?if there are some materials invented which free the line from ice?

Never noticed so I don't know. Shouldn't the cable be thick enough not to be affeted by the ice?
