First you should know my 7-year old granddaughter plays tambourine with a local band once in awhile. She has been doing this on and off for the past 2 years. The band's singer has been teaching her to keep time with the music, to listen to the music, to smile, and to love the music. She has been learning about stage performance and presentation. Things she would never learn in a classroom.
My granddaughter is allowed to play 2 or 3 songs with the band and then it is time for her to leave the bar. She is too young to hang out in a bar so we limit her time. Because she is cute, dances and plays the tambourine, people will give her tips. When she was little, they gave her quarters to put in her pocket. Two years later, they give her $1.00 bills. In three songs, she might gather as much as $12.00 in tips on the average. She likes having her own money and is learning to save money. When shopping, she is learning to budget her money.
So along comes a day where I was having a discussion with my granddaughter and her little brother about going to McDonald's to get food. I explained to them that it has become quite expensive to go to McDonald's restaurant. I also told them grandma is not rich and does not have a lot of money.
My granddaughter chimes, "If you need to make some money, grandma, go play with the band."

I agree. She does have the right idea. If you need money, go work for it. Then you can go to McDonald's to get food.

@royal52gens Or save and invest it and spend the money the money your money makes to buy McDonald's.
