Recently i discovered a lot of persons are seriously deep into depression, especially our young ones. Many of our young adults today have fallen deep into depression to the point of seeing suicide as a possible way out. One of the reasons for depression is peer pressure, the pressure of making it in life as a young adult is constantly becoming a heavy burden for most of us.
Most young adults today are under pressure of pleasing their parents or loved ones, they are under pressure or not disgracing the family name or becoming the odd ball of the family, some are under the pressure of having a girlfriend and being able to give them the best like others around them. Most of them fall into the life of crime just so they can keep up with the pressure of feeling like they belong.
I believe as adults with more experience, we should make it a duty to be closer to the younger ones, to try understand them and at the same time be there for them supporting them without pressure. There are some who are under depression due to relationship breakups, don't let them feel silly about it or weak, rather let them feel loved. I remembered when my relationship of over four years ended, it was hell for me, i quickly feel into depression, i felt i was not good enough but my family had my back. They made be feel loved, that i was good enough, it simply didnt work out cause it wasn't ment to be.
Depression kills, let join hands and look for ways to fight depression both for the young and the old cause it is not limited to a particular age group. How do you deal with depression?

I pray a lot. And read God's word. Everything going down but His Word.

If you have been able to survive till this time, it means you are strong. Don't give up. Instead of looking and thinking about the things that make you depress. Why not create a list of what you are thankful for? No matter how small be thankful for does things. You come to realize there are so many blessings you have neglected.

Yes. One of my friend's mom was clinically depressed. However, she overcame it with the supportive family she has! Meds don't help much. Family and togetherness fills the void...
