Hi everyone! I'm back from the Spring Festival, which is Chinese lunar New Year. We were very busy buying things--groceries, fruits, beverages, candies, nuts and red couplets which are decorations and we stick them on the door for auspiciousness.
Usually before the SF we have to make a complete washing and cleaning which always makes me exhausted, we wash curtains, sofa sheets, bed sheets, and clean the ceiling, the kitchen and every room, every corner. I didn't wash curtains this SF, this idea killed myself.
For the six-day-holiday, we visited around both relatives of mine and my husband's. Unfortunately my husband's granny passed away on the fifth morning of the holiday. She was 92 years old, we visited her four days ahead of her leaving.
We fired firecrackers at the night of the SF. It was so beautiful.
Anyway, the SF means an end of last year and a beginning of a new year. It means hope, energy, dream and a new start.
I love SF though it always makes me exhausted. I can make new plans, and I feel energetic for a new life.
Hope you all have a good day and a good year!

It sounds like a good time. I am sorry your husband lost his grandmother.
We could all use more hope, energy, dreams, and even a new start. I hope it happens for you and for all of us.

@MarieCoyle Hope is the one thing maybe the best that people have. Life is beautiful because of hope.

Well, it's said that hope is eternal, so I haven't given up on better times for all of us!

Definitely. It was really a big job to clean every corner of my house, every inch, to replace everything, to throw out things that I hadn't used for a year or even more longer. It was real cleaning.

If I don't do the cleaning I will feel guilty. But I survived this year. I was like, ok that's not a big deal if I don't wash. Let it go.

Yeah, though I was so tired I love SF, it meant that I could take a rest without thinking of anything related to job. This is the best leisure time of my whole year.

I'm fine now, what about you these days? I am just burying my nose in my job these days. Life is pretty busy now.

It's definitely Christmas. We are known for having the longest running festivity of the Christmas season, which begins on September 1. Others would begin putting up their Christmas decorations and trees on that day, which would last until January or February.

@MGjhaud That's really a long festival, it's the first time that I know you people celebrate Christmas, I thought we share some festival in common. How silly I am.

I'm glad to hear that. We share a similar culture. What's the biggest festival in your country?
