Got more in the store than I planned

Went to the Russian store today for some eggs. Wanted to get Amish eggs but they were not there so settled for vegetarian eggs. Same brand. Same price.
That is all I was supposed to get. Didn't turn out that way though. I also got strawberry jam from Azerbaijan, a Granny Smith apple and an orange that I will use for Ina Garten's cranberry sauce, a carton of blueberries, and a small savoy cabbage.
I also got sugar in the raw from Duane Reade as it was on sale and toothpaste at a discount store as it had the one I use.
I think I spent somewhere around $22 in total today.
Do you ever go to the store for one thing and end up getting more stuff that you were not planning to buy?

When I worked at Walmart, Pretty and I joked that we spent most of my paychecks there. Now, we stick to our list of items to buy and get back out of the store again.

@lovebuglena That's very true but if you stick to your list, you may never notice things that are on sale.

@DaddyEvil True, though while getting the item on your list you may notice something on the way there that you may want to get.

It's good to stick to the list. Save money that way. Although, if something you use but may not need at the moment is on sale it's better to get it now than pay more for it later.

@lovebuglena - Exactly, when I notice a sale, I buy more than I should.

@LadyDuck Better to pay less now than more later. Assuming you have storage space.

That happens, especially when there’s a sale.

Sometimes I end up getting stuff I wasn't planning on getting and forget to buy the thing I actually came to the store for.

@lovebuglena That irks me to no end when that happens. Although, with the lists I keep, it happens much less than it used to.

You can't go into Walmart and buy one item. They offer so many things that are tempting and at good prices.

@Adie04 As long as you get what you initially came to the store for.

@lovebuglena I usually buy everything I need, but sometimes when I go shop, I may over buy something. But that's good since I never forget to buy the things I really need at the moment.

I rarely go to the store anymore.
But I do overspend at times online for grocery delivery.

@RebeccasFarm Even more so when all you do is swipe that credit card.
