Any Place Matters For Peace

Recently, I found posts and reels about mental health and peace. For me, since I am a postgraduate student, I like to go to the library. I mean the campus library. Campus library I mean by the university campus library. I like there because I can watch the view, and enjoy the sun going through the large window in the library. I can read a lot of books from other genres and subjects. Other than that, I can look around and see other students and sometimes socialise with them when they reach out and asks me to do survey questionnaires. I can even visit the other faculties and the sea since our campus is connected to the sea. With going to the library, I can have peace and my mental health is retained. If I go only stay in the private rental dorm which the window has been covered with thick paper, the sun won't go through the room and it makes me sleepy all the time. Unfortunately, not all people understand why I like the library so much. They think the library is used for me as a working career only. Maybe they don't read my recent post about never too late to learn For my library, we even have Netflix, I can watch movies and sleep there. I sleep there most of the time. Any place matters for our peace and mental health. How about you? Stay safe, take care! Adie, February 2023.

I have this one special place. This is my go-to place whenever I feel low. It is peaceful, especially at noon. It is a seaside that only some people here in Manila know about it. I love going there at noon because it is quiet, and everyone's at home, I was there in front of the sea, hearing the baby waves and feeling the not-so-cold air hahaha. I love going there and read anything I wanted to read.

Glad that you understand me! Yup, true. Environment can drastically drains your mood if the place is not good for your energy. For me, I rather sleep in the library sometimes. I don't even mind bring a few piece of clothes, pillow and blanket just to sleep in the library. There are people who feel strange why I like library so much, until dares to mock me like 'you are not working, why are you in the library?' Like, you and I are not the same, our approach to fix our peace is different, so they don't have rights to mock me that way

@RebeccasFarm Nowadays I feel like I can adapt sleeping in that place. I mean, if I choose not to find other place to rent, at least I must go out in the morning to study or do work. I only go home to sleep. So far, I manage to adapt that way and I am happy. I want to move but sometimes financial hinders me to do so.

Peace of mind — what a treasure! Can this treasure actually be found in a world with so much conflict and despair, with so much disorder and trouble?

I believe you can find the place if you really want peace. I was struggling with minor depression and anxiety since the breakup. And it's getting worst when I really want to cut what's left of the connection in me. Plus, I was in the ex's hometown. But eventually I found library as soothing place for me. So that's why I go to the library to find peace. I can sleep in the library and nobody will going to kick me out unless it's closing hours. But still I can go to the 24 hours room and eat at the 24 convenient store beside it.

Yup! Although if I just loiter around, watch movies and such in the library, but it gives me peace rather than stay in the room all day.

That library sounds like the perfect place for you. We all need a place that brings us peace and is good for our mental health.
