Deer Park Texas police officer Joel Nitchman risked his life just before a tornado was about to hit Deer Park one week ago when he and his K9 dog named Roni at the police station headquarters when the storm began to hit the city.
Since Joel had trouble seeing anything in front of him due to the severity of the storm, Joel attempted to get out of the squad car and when he saw that his dog decided that he was not going to get out into the storm , Joel decided to rescue his partner who was inside the squad car and run into the police station by running behind the squad car into the safety of the police station since Joel and Roni have worked together for five years.
Thank goodness both the K9 dog and his partner did survive the effects of the tornado that was an EF 3 tornado. After the incident, both Roni and Joel are even closer than before.

@RebeccasFarm That is very true since tornadoes are deadlier than hurricanes.

The news reports on television mention that many animals get lost after a storm strikes.

I had to drive once in such a bad storm, as I had a doctor's appointment at my specialist. I would not like to do that again. It is good that they did not have a crime scene calling them to go to it, but could retreat into the station.

@Deepizzaguy Yes, nobody should be forced to drive in such a storm. It is putting more lives at risk too.

I have seen on television many law enforcement officers and city officials begging people not to travel on a road during a thunderstorm since it will be very hard for first responders to assist anyone during a storm until it has gone away.

Police K-9's and military dogs develop close bonds with their masters and vice versa. Man's best friend you can depend on... Glad Roni was ok!

That is very true since I have been through four hurricanes and a few tornadoes.

@thebos I get scared since the fear of blackouts or damages to the property makes me nervous.
