An Old Concept Used Today

United States
February 3, 2023 7:03pm CST
Years ago, I heard Sears sold homes in boxes. It was really popular like in 1947, before I was born. But you ever hear something so odd it just stays with you. Sears selling homes. Today I was looking at the news, and a man was being interviewed about the same concept Sears used a long time ago. Just check it out. You can see it on boxabl homes. Go figure.

That would be something to buy your house in a box. Wonder how it's delivered.?

When I was a young man, my first wife and I knew a lady that owned one of the pre-fab houses. It was decent inside.

That's pretty amazing. They joke that the originator of Ikea had a flatpack coffin.

They also sold tractors and automobiles back in the day. I guess you could say they were the original DIYers.

Yes. Three thousand house pieces would arrive by train!!! The home owner had to figure how to put the stuff together. Wards also sold catalog houses.
