Hello everyone. I hope your day is off to a good start. It is 20 degrees F and sunny here at the Jersey Shore. Nope. Not for me!
I woke up automatically at 5:30 am. I said "not today Satan!", rolled over, and went back to sleep until about 7. I was hungry so I finally got up and had a couple of homemade buttermilk pancakes from the freezer. I soaked in the tub for awhile.
I don't have anything planned for today which is fine with me. I'm actually tired and thinking of laying back down for awhile. What's everyone else up to today?

I’m having lunch at the Chuy’s in Jacksonville before going to NAS Jax to see how much (or how little) it’s changed since I was stationed there.

Enjoy your lunch at Chuy's. I, too, wonder how much NAS Jax has changed. But if you really want to see what has changed, drive over to Cecil Field. It's no longer a Navy base, although I heard rumor not too long ago that the Navy might want it back.

@moffittjc — I can understand that, because there’s not much in the way of expansion they can do at NAS Jax, unless they fill the St. John’s River or tear down Orange Park (and they can’t do that because Ronnie Van Zant is buried in Orange Park!).

@FourWalls They originally gave up Cecil Field back when they were closing bases, because they had said too much urban sprawl had occurred around the base and they didn't like having that much development that close to their bases. But now they've re-thunk that strategy and realize it really doesn't make much difference. Hell, look at McDill Air Force Base in Tampa. It sits right smack in the middle of the city. Can't get much more urbanized sprawl than that! lol

I woke up at 5:00am this morning. I was like "what the hell?" But then I took advantage of the early hour to get up and take my gf to breakfast at a very popular breakfast restaurant that's hard to get in.

It's been really cold here I woke up this morning at 7am and it was -3 outside. It got up to 22 degrees today but still to cold for me to go anywhere. I'm glad I did my grocery shopping Thursday before the coldness came. I've had a nice lazy day at home and it's what I needed after a busy week.
