Perhaps This Family Had An Angel

In my area, a few streets over, there was a fire last night. The entire home was engulfed by the flames. The family lost everything. My heart goes out to anyone in this situation. So many things can never be replaced. But the single Mom and her 7 y/o son, along with their dog Max all got out safe. That is always great news.
They are now staying with her Mom in a spare bedroom. Their dog Max had to be taken to an emergency vet last night. He breathed in a lot of smoke. The firefighters said they all got out safely, then Max came running back into the burning home. Maybe looking for the little boy. By the time they got to Max, he needed oxygen and is now recovering at the animal hospital. I hope he will be ok eventually.
Her sister is the administrator of an online group I am a member of for our town. She listed items they needed. I donated three boxes of clothes and shoes to the lady. Luckily we are the same size. I have nothing for the son, so I told her sister I would donate to Max's hospital bill. I also have many household items she can use later.
It is so wonderful and heartwarming to see so many give to this needy family. The community is amazing. I am always trying to help others and was glad we are the same size. She needs clothes and shoes for work.
The photo is a crystal angel I received as a gift many years ago. I treasure it every day. Perhaps this family had an angel with them last night.

They must have. I am sure they appreciate anything you had to offer. Helping mom, will allow mom to get on her feet faster. Helping max, helps mom son and pet alike.

@CarolDM It's going to take time for things to settle. At least the dog was able to get to a vet, and they didn't lose it.

@kaylachan Yes it will take time for sure. I hope so too. The vet is really good, just hope he got there in time.

@sallypup I wonder how I am still standing on some days. Don't get me wrong, I know you and many others have it as bad or worse. So sorry about your loss as well. My aunt lost two homes to a fire. She was completely devastated both times.

Your crystal angel is so pretty, I am sure that it watches over you and allows you to open your generous heart and share your kindness.
I hope that you can inspire others to help them, both with the dog's recouperation as well as their own fresh start.

Thanks, it has a music box in the bottom. I thought of you when I posted it. I treasure this gift so very much. A friend I was working with when Dustin passed gave it to me. I am shocked at how people are helping this family. Actually our community is always like this, but it still amazes me at how selfless we could all be.

Such tragic news about the fire, but happy to hear everyone got out safely. I know I talk badly about people in general (lack of common sense, self-centered, etc), but at the end of the day most people still have a heart and will show compassion when necessary. It always warms my heart to see people reach out and help those in need. And thank you for doing your part.

We tend to get rattled over little inconveniences but issues like this should make us realize we cannot take anything for granted. We should count our blessings.
It is indeed so kind of you to help the family tide over the crisis and that shows empathy and compassion.
The saving grace is none were hurt and Max should be okay soon.

@CarolDM I tend to think we worry over minor issues till they disappear when a major one springs out of the blue.
The loss of a child is heart-wrenching. I know a couple who avoids the issue altogether as it is too painful for them to recollect what they went through.
Some turns in life are tough to get over and tend to stay in our psyche changing our outlook toward life itself.

@Shiva49 I have days when it is too difficult to think or talk about. Other days it helps to share with others. We all have our own way of grieving for sure. The main hing is to make sure we go through the process. It needs to happen, in our own way. Always good to see you.
