Turkey get hit by earthquake this morning and it was hard, 7.8 on scale. There are already many casualties and hurted people. Turkey is not poor country but stil it will need international help. In Turkey is currently many refuges from Syria and Lebanon in refuge camps. Also those countrys were hit by eartquake.
Will we see another humanitarian crisis in Europe?

@mrki444 he number of causalities is increasing every minute. They will come to Italy through Greece as they always do. I am Italian and I read the Italian newspapers every day, in the south of Italy and Sicily they had to stop the trains for a couple of hours following the quake.

I live in an earquake prone country and when an earthquake hits all the international help is not enough. In our last big earthquake, the our then President Bachelet asked for help but only with a list of our needs. Some help is not needed.

@mrki444 I know by my own experience in my coutry that when there´s a catastrophe some people decide to give away their junk to "help". I think that governments must do what President Bachelet did in 2010 with external help And what authorities have been doing now with what people send. There are center that recieve clothes but they will NOT accept just any rag. I imagine that there they now need heavy equipment. Special hospitals are also accepted always with personel that know how to take care of wounded people.

Sad to see the destruction it caused and to have just learned about it through the news. Syria, in my opinion, was also severely affected by the earthquake. Knowing that Syria's country is already in ruins and that they had to deal with this catastrophe makes me feel even more sorry for them. According to the report, this earthquake also had an impact on fellow citizens.

This disaster was big news. I saw a video about this on Vox, and kind of see why they'd be unprepared for an earthquake of that scale. Perhaps if they weren't plagued with constant wars and government upheaval, maybe they would have been better prepared and have had better infrastructure to face stronger earthquakes.
I hope the folks there have warm food and comfortable beds by now.

@mrki444 Yeah, and a lot of undocumented extensions that wouldn't have passed a civil engineer's desk if the people there could have afforded it.
