Always hungry

My granddaughter seems to always be hungry. She eats breakfast. A half hour later, she says she is hungry. I get her a snack. Not long and she is hungry again. This will go on all day long if I let it. She eats breakfast, lunch and dinner plus about 6 snacks throughout the day. She is a bottomless pit. Nothing seems to fill her up. I have tried serving many things that should keep her full to no avail. Yesterday, she ate so much. Then complained her tummy hurt. Crazy. She is a very active child. I know she is burning off the calories so I am not worried about her gaining too much weight. In fact, she is kind petite and skinny. Now mind you, she is seven years old. She says she needs to eat so she can have muscles. lol Where does all the food go? I can't even eat that much food. Amazing. Love this kid so much. Hopefully, this is just a phase and she will out grow it soon.

I wonder ..if she keeps this up if it is not worms? I have read that having worms can make you hungry all the time.

Interesting idea but I am sure there are no worms involved.

I agree. It also can be worms. And if they are the food she eats has no nutrition to her. Maybe you can deworm her once. You can get in touch with a doctor

You are so blessed to have her, as you know I am sure. Nuts and fruits are always good to have around.

I know that young children as they grow keep getting hungry. I am glad she is eating. Because lot of kids are very picky eaters and it’s a task to feed them. I am only hoping she is eating all healthy food.

My granddaughters do the same thing! All four of them- ages 10, 6, 6 and 4. Sometimes I think they are eating out of boredom and habit. Also, when they are at my house, they hope to find better snacks than they have at home. That's usually not the case!

Is she always hungry at home, too, or only when she's visiting you? Has her mom ever mentioned anything about her extreme appetite?

I think it happens only at my house. It is either because I have things her mom does not or she is eating cause she is bored.
