Bamboo Poles

I remember vividly carrying a bamboo pole was indeed heavy. Such bamboo pole was used like a water jug in my grandfather's village in Oslob, Cebu, Philippines. I recall I broke one of these poles whille stumbling, when my left foot hit a rock.. When my cousin and I were fetching water from the lone well of the village, we had hard, but memorable life. .Life was harder then compared to today's endless supply of water from a spring near Tumalog village. I wish I could still carry one of those bamboo poles.

Those poles must have been mighty heavy. How they prevented the water from drainiing out of them in your grandfather's village?

Water is vital to life but it's good there is now an endless supply of water.

Hard work days are the good ole days. Good to appreciate those days. But it's also good to have a spring to Get easy water.
