Sparks of Joy

I watched today "Tidying Up" in Neflix. It is a series of "how to do" documentary shows of families who were in the verge of crisis because they were unable to declutter the mess in their homes. I felt the series was meant for me because my place is also topsy-turvey. Sometimes I felt depressed because I could not find the clothes and papers I was desperate to find. Tidying Up showcases the philosophy of Marie Kondo in decluttering one's home. The philosophy of decluttering starts with clothing, books, decors, memorabilia to miscellanous. I was struck with the idea in decluttering pictures - find sparks of joy. If the picture had sparks of memory which means meaningful to you personally, then keep it, putting it in a box. For those pictures, you want to do away with, thank it and put it away in a trash bin. As I now look around my room, I think I need a lot of decluttering, beginning with my clothes and books.

Instead of throwing those items away, donate them to a thrift store so someone else can enjoy them.

I am a lot tidier than I ever used to be. It's does make a difference to your outlook. I can find anything I want now without too much trouble.
