So, I mentioned that I had gone to Costco last week, I was sitting in the food court having my buck fifty, hot dog and soda, and positioned right across from the people preparing the pizza. A gadget in the kitchen there caught my attention. It was a pizza wheel. They would take out one of those crusts from the refrigerator, and put it on the wheel. The wheel had a faucet that covered the pizza with sauce. Each pizza got a whirl on the wheel. Then they would add the cheese and toppings, and cook. The bags of cheese were ginormous. They were probably 10 pound bags of mozzarella. I wonder how many pizza's they could make with each bag? Did you ever see a commercial pizza wheel? It was a new one on me.

I actually found a video of it on Youtube. I think maybe it was specially made for Costco. they actually call it an auto sauce robot.

@snowy22315 It is interesting, but pretty slow. You can see in this video how it is made industrially by Barilla, look at minute 1:50

@LadyDuck Well, they just do one at a time. The one I saw was faster than the one in the video. I don't think they sell Barilla pizza here or at least I haven't seen it, but they do sell all kinds of pasta here, and I think sauce and olive oil. There is a huge Italian store though near where sis and bro in law live. I like it, it features authentic Italian goods, maybe they might there. I am going to have to hit that store next time I go up there..it is interesting.

Yeah, I wonder how many are around? Most pizza places like to pretend they are authentic in some kind of way, and probably don't use those.

I worked in food services part of the time in college too, but mostly serving and in the dishroom. When I went to school I really don't think as much pizza was served as is now
