I hear there was a big bowl on TV yesterday, and some chiefs ate it. Or something. Hey, pitchers and catchers report tomorrow! And it’s Valentine’s Day on Taco Tuesday!! What more can you ask for? How about a theme song? The only Saturday morning entry comes today.
Scooby Doo, Where Are You! - Larry Marks or Austin Roberts
A few things that might blow your mind about these meddling kids. First, the original cartoon only lasted two seasons. Can you believe that? Secondly, the theme song had two different singers: Larry Marks did the first season, while the final episodes were sung by Austin Roberts. Roberts later went on to infamy with one of those “dead girl” songs, “Rocky,” in the mid-70s
Wonder how Casey Kasem, who voiced Shaggy, felt about talking about that song on America’s Top 40 back then.
We all know this show and the “meddling kids” line, and probably fondly remember the song. It started with a whimper but grew into a major series of cartoons and movies!
Scooby Doo, Where Are You!
Written by David Moon and Ben Raleigh
Recorded by Larry Marks (season one) or Austin Roberts (season two)
From Scooby Doo, Where Are You!, 1969-70

That was my favorite cartoon growing up. My sister and I had a small TV and that was when they had Saturday Morning cartoons, we would wake up early on Saturday to watch cartoons with Scooby Doo being my favorite of them all.

You had your own meddling kids to deal with then, probably.

It was definitely one of the best Saturday morning cartoon themes. Some of them were atrocious.

@FourWalls I'm not a fan of cartoons or animated movies. I used to watch them when I was a youngster but for some reason don't care for them anymore.

It was pretty boring to me after awhile, but I do enjoy the theme song.
