Art has the ability to awaken the senses. It can take you a different place. It can give you a new, fresh perspective on an old topic. I find art galleries amazing. To try in an instant to capture the thoughts, the feelings of the artist when he or she painted that work, it's an intellectual challenge.
I stand in awe of the imagination, the creativity of artists. It's incredible how a person can use paint on a canvas or charcoal or marble or other medium and be so innovative in capturing an idea. It's just amazing.

@rpinder You're welcome.
Pretty much everybody here is really nice so you shouldn't have any trouble making friends.
When you talk to someone, they make money here. When they talk to you, you make money. It pays to make friends with people and talk about things that really interest you. Good luck!

Van Gogh, Chagall, Picasso if we're looking at the greatest painters. In terms of artists right now. I don't follow anyone's work. I pretty much just go to art galleries and art museums. There's just so much out there. I believe to keep track of certain artists either you connect with their work or you're a collector. When I say connect, it has to be something so moving that it grabs you. I recall years ago some.of the work.of the Bosnian artist Mensud Keco being shown on television. This was work he did in the midst of the war in the Balkans. It was gripping. He was depicting the atrocities around him and used religious symbolism to deliver the message.
