Meduza is an English and Russian news website founded in 2014. It is manned by former employees of Lenta.ru news, a former independent website. They are granting open access to coverage of the war in Ukraine. Anyone who wants to pass along news of the war can reprint any article in full. The news site has been designated an "undesirable organization" by Russian authorities. It has outlawed and banned any Russian from cooperating with them. This designation is the very latest in a year-long campaign by the Kremlin to block any independent media. They want to stop any truthful reports from reaching Russians. Meduza says they will continue to report even though they know they pose a threat due to them being one of the country's most widely read independent news sites. Such "undesirable" organizations are under threat of felony prosecution. Anyone cooperating can face heavy fines and even multi-year jail terms.

We have one news media which keeps eye on the government day-in day-out. Sad to say, when a wicked president sat in, it was closed and disenfranchised and had faced libel cases.

Yes, and I hope they will be safe and able to help Ukraine get the word out.
