Love is in the air on this special day for many couples. And Cupid aims its arrow straight for the heart. And along with the flowers and candy some great mood music adds to the romance. If you bought records when The Beatles hit the music scene (CD's today), those early Beatle's tunes were mostly based on messages of love. Many of their songs also went to #1, I think, because these British icons used simple lyrics to express love in a relatable way to the listener. So, here are my five favorite songs to listen to by the "Fab Four" to celebrate Valentine's Day... 1. I Want to Hold Your Hand -I could have easily picked "She Loves You" since both are great songs but "I Want to Hold Your Hand" really took America by storm reaching #1 in February 1964 and starting the media frenzy which eventually became the "Beatlemania" craze. Fun fact: "I Want to Hold Your Hand" was the best-selling Beatles single in the United States. 2. I Feel Fine - "I Feel Fine," another #1 hit, lyrically is a simple love song about a guy who is crazy about his girl. So crazy about her he swaps those flowers for a "diamond ring" instead. Fun fact: An accidental bump into an amp led to a first! The first note of this song was the first time "feedback" was used on a major release. 3. Eight Days a Week -The title doesn't provide a clue about what this song is about, but once you hear the lyrics you find out this guy has enough love to give his girl for more than a week, lol. It was another #1 smash hit in 1964 when everything The Beatles released seemed to hit the Top Ten. 4. And I Love Her -Not a smash hit as it charted only at #12, but a wonderful sentiment of love for his girlfriend at the time Jane Asher. Fun fact: Jane Asher is the sister of Peter Asher who had his own group Peter & Gordon. Maybe you remember one of their songs. 5. All My Loving -How this classic song did not chart higher is a mystery to me. This tune was recorded in 1963, before the "Four Lads from Liverpool" really caught on in America. Maybe if they had released this as a single, I bet it would have been a Top Ten tune! There is my list... now it's your turn to contribute. What would be your favorite love song to listen to on Valentine's Day? Is there any Beatles song you would recommend as a favorite love song? I'm sure you can share one love or Beatles song you love... I'm waiting, lol. Music comments and trivia welcome... Photo- TV Insider https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9_c2XZd9mMo

The more we overthink the less we understand... You need to clear out the clutter in your head and just go with the flow It's naming a love song not Trigonometry or Rocket Science

Great song! A rockin' ode to love was that tune Sealed with a Kiss by Brian Hyland what an excellent song This was Hyland's biggest hit in the UK, but 2 years earlier in the US at the age of 16, he enjoyed an American chart topper with "Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polkadot Bikini." Remember that silly song!

I listened to and liked the song by his group The Calling called "Wherever You Will Go." That's such a touching song and fits right in with loving someone so much you would follow them wherever they would go. Thanks for responding to my post!

I love all the Beatles' music. Maybe an Olivia Newton-John song, I Honestly Love You. It was the only one that came to mind. I'm sure I can think of dozens more!

Nice choice! The song was about a couple who were both attracted to and tempted by another's charms, but did not act on it. Why? Because they honestly loved each other. How's that for a Valentine's song

Nice list Carol I like them all! Eric Clapton's "Wonderful Tonight" I think is one of his best ballads. Carole King a great songwriter and musician. My favorite album by her is Tapestry! You don't think of the Rolling Stones writing ballads, but Wild Horses is a terrific song. Yes, Bill Medley & Jennifer Warnes made a great duo on that song. The Way You Look Tonight now that's an Oldie! Frank Sinatra's version is perfection Thanks for your picks!

An interesting group of love songs Bananarama had hits with both of those tunes! "Venus" was previously recorded by Shocking Blue, and it became a #1 hit for the group. Depeche Mode has an interesting electronic sound. The band had a lot of chart success in the UK. Billboard named Depeche Mode the 10th Greatest of All Time Top Dance Club Artists. Some excellent overall choices professing songs of love in different ways Thanks for participating!
