Eli's New Glasses...

I said the other day that I would share a photo of Eli in his glasses once he got them. Life has been busy, so I haven't gotten around to sharing that photo. However, here it is!
Eli likes that he was able to pick out his own pair and in his favorite color (blue).
He didn't like that he had to wear them to school though. He said people would hate him. I knew that people would like the glasses, because they like him.
I know he didn't want to be teased by his classmates. One kid told him that he looked different, but if that is the worst of it...then no worries.
What do you think of his glasses? Did he pick out a cool pair?

Cute kid, cool glasses! Aw that makes me sad that other kids would potentially be mean to him over his cool sframes.

@MommyOfEli2013 Aw. That's just their problem then. Happy they're being ok to Eli. Too bad kids saw fit to pick on you for glasses. :/

@FayeHazel Yes it is their problem. Eli is pretty popular it seems, even though he is a quiet kid.
oh, glasses were not the only thing they picked me on for. I was always fat, so that is what they really made fun of me for.

Thank you...and that's just how kids can be! I know they made fun of my glasses. Glad they accepted Eli and his glasses though

Kids can be cruel, and it's not easy to adjust to change. He looks good, now he just needs to work on his confidence. I hated wearing glasses, too. But, because they hurt, and after a while, I didn't notice a difference.

@MommyOfEli2013 I can understand that. Glasses are a visual reminder something is wrong. It paints a target on your back. While I'd made myself the target of bullies, wearing glasses was never an issue (save the physical pain), due to being in a school filled with students with varying degrees of blindness.

Yeah they can, I know...I was bullied. Change is hard, indeed it is. I don't do well at all myself with change. Sorry that wearing them hurt. That would be hard. I hated wearing them because I feel more ugly in glasses

@just4him Well, he's kind of negative about himself. Last year when it was time to be able to wear shorts again he said the students would hate him for wearing them.

Thank you. Glad you think so too. He says nobody in his class wears glasses. I know his friend next door to his grandma's wears glasses and she's in the same grade.

It does seem early for him to get them, but some kids do I guess. I got mine around the age you did too I think
