so nice to see those dollar signs

I only just got on here today and wasn't on yesterday, so my MyLot page hadn't refreshed until now. It was nice to see the reminder that we got our payout yesterday! The other half worked on Valentine's Day, so yesterday was our Valentine's Day instead. It wasn't the day we had expected to have because of my ankle sprain, but we had a nice day all the same. We had a nice lunch (after running some errands; I had to get some work-safe shoes that would fit with the split on my foot) and later saw Everything, Everywhere, All At Once in a movie theatre that serves dinner entrees, snacks, and beverages to your seats. Today I'm home from work again, as the manager who told me there would be sit-down work for me to do made a mistake. Apparently, that's something they offer employees who were injured at work and that's not my situation. While I'm disappointed about the miscommunication, I still have enough PTO to cover being out and I'm not in danger of losing my job. I see the podiatrist on Tuesday, although I wish I had an earlier appointment. The bruising from the fall started making itself visible yesterday. I'm glad it was verified that there was no fracture, although I have some loss of feeling around some toes. I suspect it's due to some swelling around ligaments and nerves, but I'd like to have an expert tell me what's going on. I'm also waiting for some at-home exercises to be e-mailed to me, but I probably need to see the podiatrist before that happens. While I've been home, I've been binge-watching the program Russian Doll on Netflix. I always intended to see it, but the other half wasn't as interested in it as he was other programs we've watched together and I don't always have time to watch programs on my own anymore, so it seemed the right thing to watch this week. I've been enjoying it so far, but haven't started season 2 just yet. Speaking of programs the other half and I watch together, the 3rd and final season of Picard airs today! He and I are big fans of the Star Trek franchise, especially Star Trek: The Next Generation and Star Trek: Deep Space 9. While this program has shown a very different Captain Picard from the TV series, we've still enjoyed it a lot and the changes make sense. I'm also looking forward to the next season of Star Trek: Discovery, but I'm not sure when that one airs. Anyway, that's been my life this week. I probably need to be a bit more active on here while I have time in order to get caught up on my daily minimum earnings, but it's been nice to have a bit of a life away from the screen too. Remember, we only need to earn an average minimum of 19 cents a day in February in order to be able to cash out!

@spiderdust ..... Me too. I didn't care for the Russian Doll much after the first season. Her new one, Poker Face, I have only seen the first episode but hope to subscribe next month and start watching more of the series. I like it a lot better.

@celticeagle Oh, is it only available to watch with the Peacock subscription? I guess a lot of the good shows are subscription-only right now. I wish I knew what was still available with the free version of Peacock.

I did visit my cardiologist on Monday. The only problem my doctor found is my thyroid which is getting treated with medicine.

She might, although there's a character or two that make me roll my eyes. They feel kind of shoehorned in, rather than naturally fitting within the series. Also, this Picard cusses occasionally, which he didn't in the other series. It's nice that they found ways for some of the other Star Trek actors to show up, like Brent Spiner, Gates McFadden, and Jonathan Frakes. Even Wil Wheaton showed up briefly! It's on Paramount+, if she'd like to see it.

Oh wow how crappy they can’t give you sit down work to do unless you are injured at work. Glad it wasn’t a break but sprains can hurt so terribly

My job at work is one that requires standing and sitting on a stool to do it isn't really feasible and can make things more hazardous for others, and they don't really have something else that I can do without them creating work for me, and it's not their responsibility to do that.

@shaggin If I worked as a cashier, for example, I'm sure they could give me a stool or something so I could continue to work. I work in a busy kitchen with other cooks, and my theoretical stool would be right in everyone's path.

Ohhhh, ok, now I see about work - and the update on your ankle . . . the time will help you to get proper rest. Hopefully you will get the answers you need on Tuesday and can safely start on self PT. May your ankle heal up quickly! Yah, the $mylot$ was a bright spot in the week .

@spiderdust Ugh ugh ugh. I actually do believe it because my husband had been going through that with his doctor's office . . . do they not understand that people cannot just wait, it's already been a waiting game as it is. Well I'm glad they got you a new appointment . . . best of luck tomorrow!!!

Would you believe the podiatrist's office called me yesterday and wanted to reschedule me for a whole week later?! I told them I couldn't take another entire week off of work, so they found me an appointment for my original scheduled day, just at a different time with a different podiatrist.

I enjoyed the TV series. How can you not like a captain played by a gay Shakespearean actor? I hope you're right about your ankle. What you suggested (pressure on nerves) is what popped into my head as well.

@TheHorse It happens. I think he may have done an interview for either Out magazine or The Advocate in the '90s, which led people to make assumptions. His best friend is also Ian McKellen, who is actually gay, and sometimes they've been mistaken for a couple.

I have my first appointment with the podiatrist on Tuesday and will hopefully get some more answers then. Not that it's an issue either way, but I don't think Patrick Stewart is gay (although he was a Shakespearean actor). At the very least, I know he currently has a female partner and I've not heard of any male partners in the past. I know he's played gay characters, like the character Sterling in the movie Jeffrey back in the 1990s.

I don't go for the minimum. It's good to know the final season of Picard is on. I hate getting to the end of a season and waiting. Now, I can catch up. It will be good when Discovery comes on again. I'm also waiting on Halo. Though I don't know if that one will have another season. I hope so. I'm sorry you sprained your ankle. Did you like the movie Everything, Everywhere, All at Once? I tried watching it and couldn't get into it.

@spiderdust I'm glad you enjoyed the movie. I can't read fast enough to enjoy the subtitles and English mixed together. I'm glad Halo will have another season. My son didn't like the game so didn't watch it, but I enjoyed it. I get so lost with the storylines when it takes a long time for the next season to come back. I might need to do that with Star Trek Discovery. I know I'm lost with Picard.

@just4him I was a little lost with Picard too. I haven't checked to see if it has season recaps available, those are usually helpful for me. I haven't seen the Cristóbal Rios character yet in the season (although we've only had one episode so far) and I can't remember if something happened last season that would prevent him from showing up now. I hope not, because I really liked his complicated character (and all of his hologram versions)!

I'm glad I saw Everything, Everywhere, All At Once in the theatre instead of just on TV. I liked it, but it wasn't as incredible and amazing as I think it was for some of my friends. I do think it's worth seeing if anyone has the chance, but I completely understand why it was hard for you to get into it. I'm waiting for the second season of Halo too. I know they confirmed a second season before the first one even aired, so we're definitely getting one. Maybe around Thanksgiving? It was interesting for me to watch the series along with someone who was familiar with the game, as I've never played it. I suspect that Star Trek: Discovery season 5 will air sometime after all the Picard episodes have aired, so I'm guessing sometime around Easter.

Yeah, it's frustrating. I also feel like I'm slacking off somehow, even though I know I'm not and have a very good excuse for not being at work. I also try to remind myself that it's ok, it's my turn. There are two people in the kitchen who were out for months for medical issues, plus another person who was out for a month because of a personal family issue. Things won't fall apart, I won't lose my job,

I don't have nice pain meds for it, unfortunately. I do have high doses of naproxen sodium for my already existing arthritis and Flexeril for a neck issue, so I'm using those to help manage the pain and inflammation for now.
