Learning to code: Scratch or Roblox?

I have always wanted to introduce my eldest to coding as he seemed to be interested when he saw me doing programming work. I thought it would be appropriate to let him try out Scratch - a block-based programming language, which seems to be easier for beginners. I let him try a few coding lessons on Scratch. He was able to complete them quite easily and he actually found them rather boring. After a few attempts, I just stopped asking him to learn to code for a while.
Recently, he told me he is interested in game designing, so I think it might be good to start again. He has always been interested in Roblox, both playing the games and developing the games. Roblox is programmed using a text-based programming language. Finally, I realized that my eldest actually prefers text programming over block-based programming. It's not that he wasn't interested in the Scratch tutorials I shared with him, he just did not like block-based programming at all. Actually, I do not like block-based programming as well; I think writing the text is easier and less tedious.
We are now getting ready to dive into Roblox and see how it turns out.
Now I am thinking if I should let my girl start with Scratch, as text-based programming might be more complex for her and she always prefers cute stuff.

Thanks! My daughter also told me she doesn't like Scratch and block-based programming, and she is interested in setting up Roblox games by playing it. I guess I will have to learn Roblox, so I can teach her, or perhaps my eldest son too. I am just too lazy now....

@kaka135 You're welcome. I know you can do it. (But you'll learn it so you can help them... I know you. )
I have a friend on myLot who plays Roblox and learned to code from that game. He is @DevMrSamEleazar. He's still learning about coding.

@DaddyEvil I am still finding excuses to "escape" from it..... perhaps I should let them be "independent learners"... perhaps I should let the elder brother learn and teach the youngers....
Thanks for recommending your friend. Maybe I can ask him about coding in Roblox.
