You could find yourself in a sticky situation with these weapons... Literally! Here are some interesting tunes with "Knives and other sharp objects" in the title. Let's see if you find them edgy enough for your music playlist. 1. "Stiletto"- Billy Joel -Woman can be pretty dangerous with their appeal and Billy likens this female to one who wields hers like a sharp blade. OUCH!!! 2. "Razor Face"- Elton John -This is a lesser-known song from Elton's "Madman Across the Water" LP. No razors here just John's affectionate name for his friend. Fun fact: You might recognize another tune from that album, "Tiny Dancer," perhaps my favorite EJ song. TRIVIA CHALLENGE ***Now for our trivia music challenge for those who like to play along. See if you can guess these selections. Words in "quote marks" provide valuable clues! Name this week's tune, artist or facts: 1. This singer owned the charts in 1959 with hits like "Dream Lover" and "Beyond the Sea." The "husband of Sandra Dee" also recorded this #1 song that same year about a knife-wielding" criminal of the London underworld. With the jazzy opening lyrics, "Oh, the shark, babe, has such teeth, dear, and it shows them pearly white," you know this guy's as dangerous as "Jack the Ripper." -Do you know this artist and his popular knife-titled song? 2. This "Canadian guitarist" had a number of 80's hits, one even with a non-80's title called "Summer of 69." This knife song is about a breakup with a girl who found someone new, and although the experience "was as painful as getting cut," it "feels so right." Many of these artists songs especially his ballads seem to come "Straight from the Heart." -Can you name this 80's singer/songwriter and his "cutting song." 3. This song was originally recorded by Jackie DeShannon and covered by the British band "The Searchers" in 1964. The singer in this song is so bewitched by a girl, he gets a "tingling feeling" when he sees her. The song title is similar to a "popular phrase used to describe a person who is nervous about what's going to happen." This anticipation is like being on "______ and ________." Reverse the phrase and you have the song title. -Can you name that tune? Don't get "knifed in the back" figuring out the answers. If you're stuck and need additional hints just let me know in your response. I'll be glad to supply one. Or, as The Staple Singers would say, "I'll Take You There." Thanks for reading and responding to my music post!!! I will return with a new edition soon. Hope you can wait till then, lol. Stay tuned... Source- Wikipedia & songfacts.com

1. Oh the shark, babe, has such teeth, dear, and he shows them pearly whites. I remember Steve Martin singing that and making “hand sharks” in his stand-up routine early on. (I saw Steve Martin as a stand-up comedian, that’s how old I am!) That’s actually an old song from The Threepenny Opera, going back to 1928. And the singer is none other than Mr. Walden Robert Cassotto!!! 2. Have you seen that meme on Facebook….”I lost my pizza slicer, so I used a Bryan Adams CD. It cuts like a knife.” 3. And to think Sonny Bono co-wrote that! Record players and writing utensils: needles and pens (pins)! Until next time, when I’ll try to be funnier.

Yes she did! She cut through that quiz "like a hot knife through butter." And with her classic whit too! Here's a not so fun fact about Bobby Darin: Bobby Darin was romantically involved with the singer Connie Francis and was planning to elope with her, until her strict father found out: He chased Bobby at gunpoint out of his daughter's life. So many wonderful songs to choose among with Elton! I also liked this track off that same album, enjoy...
