I saw this on Reuters. Meta is testing a scheme that users will pay $11.99 a month to be a verified user on the computer and $13.99 a month for smartphones. I for one, don't really care that much about Facebook, so I will not pay it. I only use Facebook to promote my blog posts. I hope that most people will not pay this monthly fee. Would you pay to use Facebook?

It is my understanding that if you want that little checkmark by your name to verify who you are, you will pay $11.99 I don't see that many people on facebook who will pay that. If Zuck wanted to raise the prices, he should have done it before inflation hit so hard. I am sure most of us will be fine without that little checkmark.

The long and short for me is that it is a dumb idea and I will not pay it. I think most people won't. I wonder (as I have not read the news) if this only applies to businesses and celebrities?

I won't pay for it if I need to use Facebook in this way. I don't mind I am not a verified user. After all, I don't many active friends there. There are many social networkings in the world, I will use any of them which are free of charge.

I don't use Facebook... I DO use Whatsapp and had my membership with them long before it was bought out by Facebook. Same with Instagram... I had my account with them long before Facebook bought it, too.
